Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre (BA)
The Adrian College Music Department offers comprehensive degree programs fully certified by the state of Michigan and aligned with the standards set by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
Below is an outline of required music courses for the Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre. The courses are laid out in the recommended sequence of instruction from freshman through senior year. In addition to the courses listed below, students must also take general studies courses and additional courses outside of music as determined by graduation requirements.
Through a combination of Music, Dance and Theatre classes, students gain experience and knowledge in Musical Theatre Performance. Stage productions and scene workshops are an important part of this degree program. Opportunities to perform in local community stage productions are also a regular part of this program.
Students should select an SECOND BA degree in a second field of study in order to complete the college requirements for graduation (not Theatre or Music).
