Bachelor of Arts in Music (BA)
The Adrian College Music Department offers comprehensive degree programs fully certified by the state of Michigan and aligned with the standards set by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
Below is an outline of required music courses for the Bachelor of Arts in Music. The courses are laid out in the recommended sequence of instruction from freshman through senior year. In addition to the courses listed below, students must also take general studies courses and additional courses outside of music as determined by graduation requirements.
The BA in Music is a liberal arts degree with a focus on Music, providing a strong foundation in musical skills and knowledge while allowing time to explore other fields of interest. This degree is ideal for the individual who wishes to double major in another field in addition to Music (for instance Business, Communications, or Psychology).
Students should select an additional BA degree in a second field of study in order to complete the college requirements for graduation.
