Kristen Eder, voice

Kristin Eder kriseder@umich.edu teaches voice and conducts the Chamber Choir at Adrian College. She enjoys an active career as a performer of operatic, oratorio, and recital repertoire.  She has most recently appeared with organizations such as the Oakland Choral Society, the Metropolitan Baroque Ensemble, Arbor Opera Theater, the University of Michigan Opera Theater, and the Adrian Symphony.  Ms. Eder’s operatic roles include the title role in Gluck’s Armide, Dido and the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas, Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Florence Pike in Albert Herring.  In 2011, Ms. Eder will complete her doctorate in vocal performance at the University of Michigan, where she also received Master’s degrees in vocal performance and choral conducting.  As a graduate student, Ms. Eder has been a guest soloist with the University Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Band, as well made solo appearances with all of the university’s major choral ensembles.  Additionally, she has received the honor of performing in master classes with Jessye Norman and David Daniels.  Her concert repertoire includes Bach’s St. John Passion and B Minor Mass, Durufle’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Verdi’s Requiem, Stravinsky’s Pulcinella, and Mozart’s Requiem and C Minor Mass.  Ms. Eder is adjunct professor of vocal studies at Adrian College and the proud mother of her one-year old daughter, Alyssa.
